Anger is an emotion that is automatically deemed bad. Most of us will do everything we can in order to avoid feeling angry. When we think of “angry people”, we tend to think of those who have frequent outbursts. But the truth is, anger can manifest itself in many different ways. And if we’re honest, most of us struggle with anger on a daily basis. But here’s another truth: not all anger is bad! In fact, when we go to Scripture, we see God display the emotion of anger. He hates sin and injustice! Isn’t that good news? We want God to be angry about the brokenness of this world! But still, we don’t know how to engage with anger in our own lives in a healthy way. We don’t know how to identify and be free from sinful, unrighteous anger, and we’re not quite sure what righteous anger can and should look like in our lives.
In this episode, we are joined by fellow Staff Writer, Aubrey Coleman. Aubrey brings in her biblical counseling background and helps us walk through this topic of anger. She also wrote a study on emotions that was recently released from The Daily Grace Co. called “Emotions and the Heart”. Be sure to check it out!
