A familiar verse that’s shared between Christians is Romans 8:28, which says, “and we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose”. But what does this verse really mean? And what does it mean in the midst of hardship or suffering or tragedy? During these painful times, we may ask, “Can this verse really be true? Does God really work all things for good? What even is ‘good’?” Today, we are joined by a fellow co-worker, Jensen Walter, and we talk about this verse. We talk about how this verse is a true comfort for believers, but the “good” that this verse promises may not be what we may be thinking when we offer it as a consolation to those in trials. We talk about how we can find comfort in this truth in the moment. We talk about how we can work through the “why?” that we may ask when we’re in the midst of a painful situation where we are suffering and doubting God’s goodness. Come join our conversation!
